[ She'd had an uncomfortable amount of free time recently and so had been lounging around on the sofa trying to debate what to even do. Boredom never was a good thing for Ashe, because she got antsy with too much spare time and too much loneliness.
The distraction was welcome when the doorbell rang, but she wasn't about to look eager. She stood up and stretched before making her way towards the front door of the house. She really shouldn't have been surprised it was Chloe, and she didn't mind her company. She offered a small smile and leaned in the door way with crossed arms. ]
[ And she's home. Of course she's home. Chloe stands a little straighter, holding the large wrapped package a little closer to herself for a second as she watches Ashe lean against the door. This is... unfair. She really shouldn't be allowed to be that awesome looking so easily.
Gulping, she went to hold the package out to her with a somewhat quick thrust forward of her arms. ]
I brought you something. It uh - it showed up in my basket and... I think they're yours. I'm pretty sure they're yours. They'd better be yours, or the deer really fucked up.
[ She hadn't been expecting anything from the younger girl. However, her curiosity is now definitely piqued. She tilts her head in a little bit of confusion, then can't help a small chuckle as she stands up straight and motions with a nod of her head for her to come in before stepping aside. ]
That's awful sweet of you. Why don't you come inside then, and I'll have BOB put on the kettle.
[ She pulled the package back against her as she made her way into the house, biting her lip and glad that at least a present wasn't seeming weird so far. ]
[ It had been awhile since she'd been gifted anything. Her gang didn't exactly settle in at Christmas time and unwrap presents under the tree. She had also grown up with plenty of presents and no one to share them with. She has no idea at all what could be in the box, but she could guess that it was a way for Chloe to come for a visit. It wasn't something she minded either way.
She directed B.O.B. to the kitchen and then went to take a seat at the table, pushing the other chair out with her foot for Chloe. ]
Well enough. This place gets borin' real fast though. And it's too damn cold.
I would hope whoever runs this place knows better than to censor me.
[ She'd noted the bandage, but injuries and bandages are so common place in her life that it's not given much extra thought.
The box however has her full attention. ] Hey BOB, knife please. [ He brings one quick before returning to setting up tea. She goes about undoing the paper, and stands up with one knee on the chair to look inside. Her eyes widen and pure joy and surprise light up her face. Yeah, she looks like a little kid on Christmas. ]
The more you'd hate it, the more likely it is to happen. I dunno that it's done yet, so just... watch out, I guess.
[ She watches as she opens it, practically beaming when she sees the joy on her face. She's trying really hard to not have that excited energy come out by doing something stupid like bouncing, but it's really hard to sit still in her seat. ]
[ She pulls Viper out and her fingers smooth over the curves of her beloved rifle. It's like finding a missing piece of herself and she can't help but feel emotional over it. She's sure she looks a little stupid getting so excited over a gun, but it meant so much to her. They had been through everything together the two of them. ]
Weird? Hell no. This is at the top of the list of best things I've ever received. Don't know what I did in your eyes to deserve such a thing, but I ain't complaining.
[ She looks up from the gun, all seriousness in your eyes. ]
I owe you one. I owe you a big one and I take that very seriously, so don't brush it off. Thank you Chloe.
[ There's visible relief when she assures her, and she smiles up from her seat. ]
I dunno. You haven't treated me like an idiot or like I have to be handled all gentle. It's... nice. Refreshing, I guess. [ She looked back down at her hands, playing with her fingers. ] Plus, you seemed all out of sorts without them, so I figured I've been here so long, that the deer might be willing to help me out more than they would someone new, so...
[ She shrugs. ]
You shouldn't have to be without your weapons in a place like this.
[ Ashe never had been big on treating anyone like a child. She'd thrown away privilege to run off and create a gang as a teenager. She'd been running from the law and getting involved in gang violence and warfare well before Chloe's age. She has plenty of members of her gang that are young. The last thing she was going to do was treat Chloe as incapable or young. ]
I don't see why people gotta treat you like a kid when you ain't one. I got boys on my team younger than you pulling better weight than some of the ones that have been around since the early days.
[ She had to blush at any sign she'd been out of sorts. It wasn't a state she liked to show.]
I guess I'm just used to having them on my person. But you shouldn't think you have to worry about lil' old me. BOB here has a few tricks up his sleeves. [ She patted B.O.B.'s arm right over the hidden weapons and gave Chloe a telling wink as he set out tea and food on a platter for them.]
[ The way she lights up at being told she isn't a kid is almost sad; she sits a little straighter and she does her best to hide the grin on her face, keeping her eyes downcast because it's less embarrassing that way. Being told she was a child all the time had taken its toll on her confidence and it was refreshing to be given the opposite message for once. ]
I wasn't worried. You didn't seem like the kind of person who would get hurt easy. But it's still good to have the things we're familiar with using, right? Nothing wrong with a little extra protection. I --
[ She clears her throat, moving to go and pull back the rest of the paper in the box. ]
There's three boxes of ammunition for each gun and then a couple of sticks of dynamite. I got a whole bunch in my basket so I figured it'd be good to share.
[ Not for the first time Ashe wonders what's been done to Chloe to make her such a sponge for attention and affection. It's like looking in a mirror to herself at that age; it's not the most comfortable thing. All the same, she can't say she doesn't like her or enjoy her company. On top of that she seems loyal to a fault, another thing Ashe appreciates. ]
Yes. It is. This baby is more like an extension of myself than a weapon at this point. We're smooth as silk together and twice as deadly. It's good to have her back.
[ She peers into the box and pulls out the ammunition, nodding her approval. Her eyes light up at the dynamite. ] Ya know, you got good taste. I would hire you in a heartbeat.

[ Chloe still had a bandage on her neck from cutting out the chip and she hoped it wasn't going to end up yet another scar this place had put on her.
She placed the box down in front of Ashe before she took a seat. ]
I, uh - I hope you like it.
