Her eyes go wide at the collection of presents, and then the cake. As soon as she sees 'mom' written on it, a knot forms in her throat and she feels like she's at risk of crying. She clears her throat instead and a smile twitches on the edge of her lip. ]

[ Chloe’s already hunting down a knife and when she finds one that looks like it will work for cakes (god bless B.O.B. apparently) she comes back over, pulling the cake towards her to start to cut it into slices. ]
McCree reads romance novels? That’s fucking rich. [ She looks about as amused as you’d expect. ] I’ve never actually picked one up, but the covers are iconic.
[ She leans over to look at the bracelets, grinning sheepishly when she sees what present they are. ]
[ B.O.B. could pretty much thanked for just about everything that was of necessity in her home. She barely even thought of those things. ]

[ Chloe grins, brow arching at the blush as she starts to put the cake onto plates, giving Ashe a small piece in case she didn’t want to eat too much of it. Or any at all. ]

[ She says it teasingly, though she pulls the expected face at the idea of him learning from those, just to be a brat. ]
He seems like it to me. [ She goes to take a large bite of cake, before continuing to talk around the mouthful. ] I don’t like to say I told you so, but— ... Who am I kidding, I love to. I told you you guys were into each other still.
If it were anyone but Jesse, I'd say it was the smut.

[ She's embarrassed by how happy that makes her, and nervous about how fragile it all is. It's almost easier to turn her attention to the cake, which suddenly has her full attention. Not just because of her embarrassment over Jesse but because her mind momentarily returns to slices of cake that went stale on the table while hours of waiting passed. Snapping herself back, she forks a small piece of it and looks to Chloe. She wasn't a child, and a member of her family was sitting there with her having made the cake herself. Finally she takes the bite, and it's sweet. It doesn't go down easily as she feels a knot in the back of her throat. But if there are any tears in her eyes, it's not from that, but from the overwhelming love she feels.
She clears her throat, and takes another bite for emphasis on how much she appreciates the sentiment. ]
You make a good cake kid. Bob'll be after you to be a co-pastry chef at this rate.
[ Chloe can't stop the grin on her face from growing all the more at the way Ashe reacts when she talks about Jesse. She swallows down the bite of cake she took, before she's back to beaming. ]
I'm glad you two got over your shit so you could make it work. You... deserve to be happy. Together.
